Since I had made the double side step card, decided to do another side step card. Since I haven't used Gigi in awhile, thought she matched this groovy paper and decided to ink her up. Doesn't she look like she's going shopping with her handbag? That's what I'm gonna be doing on my trip home! Anyway, hope you are having a great weekend!

Took a short break from distressing and needed to make a sample for an upcoming class at Island Scrapbooking. Decided to play with my new Create A Critter Cartridge by Nancy Kubo and had a blast putting this card together. These critters are soooo cute! Totally my style and so much easier to put together than some of my other cartridges. There are only a few pieces and they are not that small, so easy to work with. I think my students will like it too.
Since I wanted to include the cute crab and sandcastle, I decided to make the view from the ocean and make the "land" stuff at a distance. That's the great thing about step cards, it automatically gives your card dimension and depth. I'll share my other card for this class later.

Yes! I finally made a card! Woo Hoo! This card just evolved on its own- it started with the new DP I got from Island Scrapbooking by Jillybean. The prints were so sweet that I couldn't resist. I've also been meaning to use this CC's image, so I thought I'd try a more 3-D look by cutting out the fence and mounting it on the middle step of this side step card. The butterflies were mounted on the back panel so that it looks like its behind her.
Since she looked like she was in deep thought (hence the closed eyes), I found this really long and lean sentiment that fit on the side panel perfectly and matched her expression.
I saw this side step card in many galleries online and thought it was another neat card to try. Love this new CC's Sugarplum stamp called Lil' Bug Emma. Don't you just love her belly? I took this photo before I added small punched butterflies- sorry.. use your imagination for me K?
Anyway, needed a sentiment to match this card and found this "Bugs and Kisses" sentiment from a mini Hero Arts set that included a little bee, ladybug and Hershey Kiss stamp. I thought it matched since Emma was dressed as a butterfly.
Tracy gave me a great idea to try next time I make this card- she said to use a photo instead of a sentiment! I'll have to try that out the next time I make this!
