3 Years Old

Time sure flies!  I can't believe its been 3 years since I started blogging!  I remember when I discovered the world of blogging.. I was instantly addicted!  It was like a wealth of paper craft information... for FREE!  The more I searched, the more I was hooked... and here I am today, still blogging now and then.  Not as much as I used to, but as you know, within the last year I've also started my own stamp company!  Although this has taken a lot of time away from my crafty and bloggy time, I still enjoy visting everyone's blogs to see what they are up to.

I am also very happy that through blogging, I have met so many fun and wonderful friends!  Living in a small town that you did not grow up in makes it hard to find friends that have the same interests.  Blogging opened up a whole world where I could find others that were just as crazy as me about paper crafting!  I feel so fortunate to have met so many crafters not only from Hawaii, but from around the world!

I gotta tell you, I've met some bloggers in person and they are nice, but when you tell them that you are a craft blogger too, their eyes light up and there's an instant connection!  I guess we all feel comfortable with each other since we all get excited over the same things, all have messy desks, all lose stuff and end up buying 2 of the same thing, all hoard our craft supplies... and the list goes on and on... I guess its nice to know that you aren't the only one doing those things!

Sooo, for all of you who have been following me on this journey, its time for some fun right?  Well, since Sister Stamps is dear to my heart, and I'm celebrating 3 years of blogging, I think one of you should win some blog candy!  Hmmmm, I'm thinking 3 Sister Stamps of your choice! I'll throw in some other goodies too, but that's the main part of the prize. Who doesn't like a little freedom of choice?

Hello Bloggers! I guess I've been really busy lately and forgot about my blogaversary! Wow- 2 years has gone by so quickly. I also noticed that I hit 101 followers!! OK- I know there's a duplicate, so its really 100, but that's still cause for celebration right? This blog candy is open to all of my 100 followers! Feeling Thankful

Lakerific!

Happy 4th of July! Hope you all have a happy and safe holiday! Just wanted to thank Joy of the Joy of Crafting Blog for this awesome L.A. Lakerific Blog Candy! Notice all the purple and yellow goodies? It even came with the purple container underneath. Thanks Joy! At first I thought I shouldn't enter because I don't like basketball, let alone any sports, but she made her giveaway fun... even for those of us who don't like the sport! Lucky Me!

I was so stoked to win this blog candy from Amy (A Thousand Sheets of Paper). She is the artist for Sweet November Stamps, which are quickly becoming some of my favorites! I just loved her elves that came out for Christmas and were so excited to see them return for Easter! Guess Santa isn't the only one who has helpers! Not only did I win the new Spring Elves set, she also sent me the cute card sample and other goodies shown here. Thank you so much Amy!!! Can't wait to use them!

Blogaversary Candy!

Hello Everyone! My Blogaversary is coming up at the end of this month! I can't believe its almost one year since my first post! To think, I was so scared to start my own blog! I think the main reason I started my blog was purley for selfish reasons... I wanted to be able to enter to win blog candy! Hee hee hee.... Now I just love everything about craft blogging... I love seeing everyone's creations, reading posts and posting my own creations. OK so now that I've won my share of candy, I want to give back to the community that has been so kind and generous to me! Since times are tough now days, I've decided to make some candy for you! I'll throw in a few other surprises in there, since that's always fun, but the main piece of candy I'm offering is one of my custom made 2010 wall calendars. I want this to be special, so the winner of this candy will be able to choose a color scheme and select from one of these themes: Hello Kitty, Greeting Farm stamps, Pink Cat Studio (Lilly/Billy stamps), Fhiona (Your Next Stamp), Gorguss Girls, or other agreed upon theme (this will be limited to what I have on hand). Sweet Candy!

Just wanted to give a BIG Thank You to Jean at Dandelion Designs for this Sweet Blog Candy! These are some of her new releases that are in stores now. You have to check out the other new releases- she has some really cute Girl's Day stamps that I just love. Isn't this skunk so cute? His name is Sweetpea. I also love the fact that she makes coordinating sentiments to go with her stamps. Thank you Jean- I love the little box too.. Birthday Blog Candy Winner!!

OK- I know you guys aren't going to believe this... but I can honestly say that my little Akemi pulled the following name for the Birthday Blog Candy Winner.... Laura! In case you aren't aware, Laura is my cousin and if you look back at all the followers on my blog, I believe she is the first one to sign up! How appropriate yah? There was no special treatment because she's family either! Promise!! Congrats Laura! I'll send it to you soon. BTW- just a bit of funny info, when my blog was initially started it was called "Like Scrap?" because my DH thought that would be sooooo funny... So I did it, and my dear cousin Laura pointed out to me that since the blog address at the time was likescrap.blogspot.com, it also looked like "Likes Crap"....LOL! Oh My Goodness!!!

Well, its official... I'm another year older. Normally, my b-days are celebrated intimately with my family, but somehow this year the girls at Island Scrapbooking found out when my b-day was (how the heck did they figure it out?) and threw a surprise party for me. They are so cute- we had fun hanging out after Craft Night. Here's all the cute cards I got from the girls... The card featured above was by (drum roll please....) Michele! I hear Tracy contributed to the card too. Thanks girls! I feel so special having my name custom made! The next card was made by Donna.... I think she wanted to make me a Two Scoops Rice card since I'm now on the DT. Cute yah? She made popcorn and mochi crunch for me! This last card was from Debi... She knows how much I love Hello Kitty and made this cute card... Just love how she made the party hat for her! See this HK charm? Debi said she saw it a long time ago and bought it for me for my b-day. So sweet yah? I'm not using it- I love it on the card! I promise to take it out and look at it often. Thanks Debi! Here's some of the goodies they gave me... Gee, how did they know what I wanted??? Thanks girls... you really surprised me and made my day! I just love hanging out with all of you! People Really Win...

Hi Everyone! Hope you are having a good week so far. Yesterday I received my blog candy from Enjoli!!!! It totally made my day- Thank You Enjoli! She's so sweet to make all this cute stuff and give it away. I feel so fortunate.

Now for my story... whenever we have get togethers with our friends and family, everyone teases me about being on the blogs so often. I think its because everyone else talks about WOW (for you non-geeks it stands for World of Warcraft) except me. Since I don't play WOW, I don't understand the language they are speaking so I end up tuning them out and start looking at blogs again. I guess they wouldn't understand my crafting language, so we're even.

Anyway, I was showing them on my phone all the cool blog candy my fellow bloggers give away. They didn't believe me at first, but I showed them all the cool stuff that is so generously given by others. One of my friends asked me- so have you ever won before? I think he was teasing me because he thought I would probably never win. So I told him that I DID win before... (thank you to Jean from Dandelion Designs) which totally FACED him (hee hee hee - remember FACE?- picture me putting my hand in front of my face... if you don't have a clue what I'm talking about you are probably too young to remember.)

Back to my story.... the very next day I saw that I had won Enjoli's blog candy!!! Yippee! That was sooooo awesome on so many levels! hee hee hee! They were tripping out that I had actually won! So thank you Enjoli- you made my day in so many ways! Just had to share that fun story...

Also- wanted to thank Karen for another great RAK. She borrowed the idea from Ben Franklin's Joy of Crafting show. I've seen this before on other blogs but have yet to make one myself. Thanks K.I.! Now I don't have to make a sample for myself!
