RAK for Enjoli

I'm so bummed that I missed meeting Enjoli on Saturday! Oh well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be... Since I was planning on meeting her, I decided to make her something small. Luckily, I left her stuff with Michele at Island Scrapbooking, who gave it to Enjoli when she came in. She's really inspired me over the past year to get off my butt and start using all of my craft supplies!
These desktop calendars are sooooo easy to make! I just love using the Prima flowers with them along with some kind of image- whether it be Hello Kitty or stamped image. I went with Hello Kitty this time since I'm pretty sure Enjoli likes Hello Kitty.
Here's a close up of the box I made to package it. This is actually the A2 box (tutorial is on split coast stampers), and it fits perfectly! I am loving this Love Bandit paper by Bo Bunny. They are my new favorite at the moment.
Supplies:
Cardstock- Bazzil
DP- Bo Bunny

I had cut these Hello Kittys from my Cricut awhile ago- I'm talkin' Halloween time?! Anyway, I forgot I had them and found them recently... can't let them go to waste right? So I made up these simple cards using the images that were cut. I think my favorite is actually the snowman!

Hello Kitty Calendar

This year, my friend asked me to make a few calendars for her. She requested that one of them be either cherry blossomed themed or pink Hello Kitty. I decided to make it with both cherry blossoms and Hello Kitty. I picked out my favorite Hello Kitty Sizzlits and used coordinating colors for her clothing. Hope she likes it!

60th Anniversary Gift

Amist all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, I found out that my husband's grandparents were celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary!!! I don't think I've ever known anyone to celebrate so many years together. I think that is sooo awesome!
So, because our families as a whole like handmade gifts, I decided to make them a layout using a shadowbox frame of their wedding photo. I managed to get their wedding photo from my mother in law... I totally expected to see them in Kimono attire, but to my surprise, the bride wore a modern gown. I must say, she had a nice gown for that time! My MIL said that she doesn't think they realize she has their wedding photo, so it should be fun to see their surprised faces when they see this gift.
Do you ever have a vision of your project and find you didn't have the right supplies? This just happened to me with this particular project. I went through all my washi paper and didn't like anything I had on hand. Then I remembered a specific crane washi paper by Hanko that Island Scrapbooking carries. A super duper big mahalo to Michele at Island Scrapbooking for helping me get the washi paper in time to finish my project! I thought the crane washi was perfect since its a typical Japanese symbol used in weddings.

After I mounted the photo on the washi paper, I felt like it was too plain. After consulting with my MIL, she told me that the sakura was part of their family's mon, so it was a perfect tie in to the project. Its hard to tell from this photo, but I punched out sakura petals and made a few sakuras and floating petals in mirrored silver cardstock. I embellished them with some flat back pearls by Kaisercraft. I really like the way it came out with the pearls. Originally, I was going to use crystals, but the pearls matched better with the washi paper.

Tried to show you in this junkie photo the washi paper. I guess its hard to take good photos of the mirrored cardstock. It looks much better in real life!

Its hard to believe that they've been married for that long! What an inspiration!

Supplies:

  • Washi paper- Hanko designs
  • Cardstock- Bazzil
  • Sakura petal punch- Hanko designs
  • Pearls- Kaisercraft

Fairy Ava Desk Calendar

Fairy Ava is so cute! She is a digi from In Style Stamps. I love how you can get her in different poses, so you can customize your project perfectly.
I chose the sitting Ava for this calendar. She looked like she was taking a break from her fairy duties. I need a break too!
Anyway, used my prima flowers again to decorate the calendar, which really adds to it. Here's a close up of Ava.

Happy Birthday Tracy!

Its my friend Tracy's Birthday today! Woo hoo! Here's the little something I made for her b-day...I'm pretty sure she likes Gorguss girls (among other stamps), so I decided to go with them for her card and box. I used the Cottage wall DP I got from Stampin Up. This paper is so pretty! I used the A2 box since it was the only box that could hold the stuff I bought for her. Hope she likes it and doesn't have it already!
Here's a close up of the Gorguss Girl on the box.
Here's the birthday card I made that coordinates with the box.

December OCS

Hi Everyone! Just thought I'd share with you the card I made for the December OCS that Teri hosts every month. I think she actually wanted to skip November and December for the holidays, but there was a lot of participants who still wanted in even though this time of year is so hectic. I was one of them who wanted to participate- so Thank you Teri for hosting again! Its so fun to be able to exchange cards with other crafters. My partner this month was Teresa. Hope you like the card Teresa!
Since its December, I decided to do a Christmas card. This is another Emma image from CC's designs. I had fun coloring her in pink instead of traditional Christmas colors. I think it matched the DP better anyway since it was a lot of pastels.
To give her cuffs a frosty white look, I used my white smooch. Normally I use liquid pearls, but I decided to go with the smooch since it dries faster. It isn't as thick either, so its flatter on the page.
Supplies:
Emma stamp- CC's designs
Be Merry sentiment- Imaginisce
Pearl- Crystal accents
DP- Bo Bunny
Cardstock- Bazzil
Markers- Copics
Ribbon
Smooch
Can you believe Christmas is less than a week away???

Gorguss Desk Calendar

You've seen these desk calendars before right? Well, I've seen them a million times, but the way they are made on the blogs are much nicer than any I've seen at craft fairs in the past. So I tried my hand at making them as Christmas gifts this year. I love the look of using prima flowers and mounting the image on the acrylic instead of being under the plastic. Somehow it gives the image more depth.
Here's a close up of the Gorguss Girl image I used. I got this image from Enjoli- Thanks Enjoli!
I'll post the other ones I made soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Gorguss Girl- Sugar Nellie/Funky Kits

Christmas Village Castle

Our department is hosting a Christmas Village Contest this year. Last year we had a Christmas Tree decorating contest and before that, they had a choo choo train. We could all submit a house, or building to be part of the village. I decided to go with a castle. I wanted to make it girlie, so I made it gray and pink. Akemi thought it should be covered in snow, so we added icicles and cotton to the bottom to simulate snow. The castle is actually a template I found here.. It was a lot easier to make than I thought! I took it to work today and laughed when I saw it next to the other two entries (sad yah? Only 3 of us entered!) One was a fire station- which was awesome and much larger than my castle... the other was a house that was also larger than my castle! Looks pretty funny when the castle is the smallest structure there! Oh well, I don't have time to modify it, so it went as is. I'm pretty happy with the results. Here's a better look at the castle.
