Happy Girl's Day!

Happy Girl's Day everyone! Made a few treats for the girls at IS and wanted to share them with you. Made those cute treat card boxes again but this time I turned them sideways, and I think it like it better! Didn't really plan on doing it this way- can you tell by the way my washi paper is placed on there? Would've looked nicer if I did it the other way, but oh well, it'll have to do. Inked up my Dandelion Designs japanese doll stamps from last year. These are great to bring out each year for girl's day.. Love the sentiment too... And used a couple of my sister's designs here since they are also japanese girls... You see the candy inside? Its called Melty Blend and its so awesome! Just melts in your mouth! My favorite is the chocolate strawberry flavor, but we ate that a couple of weeks ago for Valentine's Day, so this is all I had left. Believe me, it was a mental battle deciding if I wanted to share these chocolates or keep them for myself!!! LOL! Hope the girls like it as much as I do!

An Early Girl's Day RAK

My CBFF (Debi) gave me this oh so cute Girl's day bag! I'm pretty sure she made it with a top note die and covered a small paper bag as the base. Love how she accented it with cherry blossoms and the tiny kokeshi doll from Dandelion Designs. So cute! Inside was yummy strawberry gummies, which are already gone! Thanks Debi! Guess I'd better go work on mine now!

Happiness

I wanted to get in the girl's day mood, so I searched for some of my japanese girl stamps. Forgot about this Hero Arts clear set and decided to ink it up for old time's sake. I've been trying out stamp layering and thought it might be cool on this card. Started with the ledger background cling stamp in Antique Linen (Distress). Then I stamped the Happiness kanji stamp and the cherry blossom branch from Stampendous. Love it! Kept with the brown theme instead of black ink and I love how it turned out! Finally stamped the girl and added a fan to her hand. After coloring in all the flowers, I decided to add some diamond glaze for a lacquer effect. Here's a close up look of this asian cutie.

Happy Girl's Day!

Happy Girl's Day everyone! Here's a few girl's day stuff that I made and things my daughter got from family. These pint sized paint cans are from Ben Franklin. I just cut a strip of washi paper and used sakura stickers to embellish. The girl is a Hero Arts stamp set and the flower is Doodlebug Designs. I just love this stamp set for girl's day! Here's the view from the top. The circle was cut from spellbinders nestabilities and the scallop circle was from a quickutz cookie cutters set. I got the butterfly from Big Island Packaging but no company was listed. Just before I mailed them to my nieces, I put in the panda cookies- yum yum!
I don't know if you can tell, but one of the pails is different. I tried making my own japanese girl using a circle punch for her face. Came out kinda cute, so I decided to use it for my daughter's can.
My cousin Laura sent Emi this CUTE Hello Kitty Backpack!!!! I've been eyeing these backpacks on other blogs but haven't tried it yet. I can't wait to try it out! Now I have a sample to follow. Thanks Laura! (Gee, I act like she made it for me! I think Emi is going to have to fight me for it!)
Here's the view from the back so you can see the straps.
Here's Emi with some Girl's Day goodies from Grandma! My mom couldn't resist spoiling Emi with a whole box full of snacks.
