Happy Birthday Haley!

One of my niece's is gonna have a birthday soon!  I'm really trying to be good and get my cards out on time.  Hope I'm not too late!

She loves animals- especially dogs!  Like Daba, my niece has a "Daba" called Woof Woof.  I think her name has changed to Lacey.  My brother (more like my SIL) was smart and got several Woof Woof dolls- just in case.  But believe me they know the difference between the "real" Woof Woof and the fake Woof Woofs.  Akemi could do that too.

So, everytime I see a puppy, I think of my niece. Hope she likes this card.  Oh, and she also likes the color blue, so that's why I tried to incorporate it into my project.

Here's a better look at Kiki...

And it's a pop up card!  Here's what it looks like when you open it up!

Hope Haley has a great birthday!  See you soon!

Happy Birthday Sara!

My niece's birthday is coming up soon and I am actually ahead of the game this time!  I made a quick card to go with her gifts and kept it pretty simple.

Used my new Doodlebug birthday papers as the background. Because the paper is pretty busy, I kept the card simple.  Colored up Minako in the same bright colors used on the dp and just added a banner with an Island Scrapbooking laser cut.

Yay!  Easy peasy card.  Here's a closer lok at Minako.

Sister Stamps Happy Meals- Inspired by Bona

Happy Meals are not just for kids right?  Well, I was watching one of my favorite You Tube Channels- Live Love Scrap by Bona (Hi Bona!).  She made these amazingly cute Happy Meal boxes and decorated them to give away.  Although she made them awhile ago, I filed it in my brain to eventually return to that tutorial so I could do my own take on it.  Here's the link to her amazing tutorial...  It's super easy to follow.

Since I was meeting up with some of my besties in Honolulu, I decided to make some of these Happy Meal boxes for them.  At first I wanted to use my new Prima Doll stamps, but those girls were just too big, so I resorted back to Sister Stamps.  I really wanted a vintage/shabby chic feel to it, so I went with my instinct and here's the end results...

All three were made using the new Prima Princess Collection paper line.  Used a variety of lace and embellishments.  Some I made (stick pins) and some were purchased.  The large bow on the top of the box was made using the Stampin up bow die. (Love that die!)  And because the recipients would appreciate the project, I decided to splurge and use some of my beloved bling that is saved for special people who will not just throw my project away!

I gave this one to Kyoko.  Added some home made stick pins for balance.

This one went to Linda... Used my new banner punch by Stampin up... Love it!

It's hard to see but I cut out the cupcake and replaced it with a heart embellishment.

And this last one was for Cami.  Used Minako cause she reminds me of Cami.  See the hamburger box on the side?  I ended up not giving it to them. Had so much issues with it. Instead I cut out the mini milk carton die and put that inside instead.

Hope you enjoyed my projects!  And thank you to Kyoko, Cami and Linda for a fun day at The Scrapper's Den and lunch!  I can't wait till we meet up again next month!

Just Wanted To Say Thanks

Geez.. has it really been that long since I last blogged on this blog?  Sorry peeps... Work has kept me pretty busy.  I've actually been creating stuff here and there, but haven't been able to post regularly.  So in the next few days you'll be seeing what I've been up to.

Awhile back, the owner of Hanko Designs- Norm sent me some washi paper samples.  To thank him for sharing his new washi paper designs, I decided to make him a few cards that he could use as samples.  I kept them very simple cause I didn't have a lot of time and wanted to focus on quantity.  Here's what I came up with....

First up is one of our favorites- Kiyomi.  It amazes me that after all of our images that were released, she still continues to be one of our most popular!  The bridge die is by La La Land crafts and I've been dying to use it on a project.  It's just the right size to coordinate with our images.  Ended up using an Island Scrapbooking sentiment since it seemed to match perfectly.

And here's a better look at Kiyomi. She was a leftover sample from my advanced hair coloring class I taught last month.

Next up is Misaki.  This image is one of my faves.  She's so cute yah?  I guess you could say its actually Kiyomi playing with the birds.  I really like how this card turned out.  Used the curved design panel die which is a custom die by Hanko.  It allows you to use a washi paper that has a busy pattern without overwhelming your image. I gotta use it more often!

And here's a better look at Misaki.

Finally, my last card features Harumi.  Because the washi was pretty busy, I decided to use a scallop circle to cut down on all the print.  That Arigato stamp was from the new Lawn Fawn Let's Roll set.  I love that set.  If you don't have it, you really should buy it!

And here's a close up of Harumi.

Be back soon with more projects to share!

Sister Stamps Wall Calenders

I guess you could say that these hanging wall calenders are my signature calender each year.  But as mentioned before, I try to change them up each time so that customers don't get bored of the same old thing.  This year I decided to make it so that the calender doesn't need to flip over as in year's past... So in order for it not to be too long, I included two months on each panel.  Here's some of my samples...

You get the idea right?  So, the ones below are pretty much the same except that they are not opened up.

Back soon with some Hello Kitty versions of this type of calendar.

Hello Kitty Calendars!

Another new design that I came up with this year was a year-at-a-glance 12x12 calender. I like these a lot too since they are not that much work but people feel like they are getting a good deal.   What is pictured here is not all of the ones I made.. just a sampling.  I wasn't able to get photos of all of them since I sold a lot before I could take photos.  These are the Hello Kitty ones I made.  Love that I could bring them out of storage and give them some love!

Wow- is that enough?  Hoping I have some leftovers for Xmas gifts this year.  More 12x12s to come...

Happy Cappy Birthday!

When my brother and his family visited over the summer, it was pretty hectic, but was fun to catch up with the girls to see how much they've grown.  When all the girls get together they are inseparable!  Wish we got to hang out longer with them. Hopefully they will come visit us in Hilo next summer.

While they were visiting, I found out that my poor niece never received the birthday gift we sent back in June!  I felt really bad.  Especially because we had sent her a gift card that someone probably stole and used by now.  Booooooooo....

So to make it up to her, we decided to send her another gift.  We found out she had gotten her own Wii recently and loved to make Mii's.  My daughter loves that too, so we thought she would love this Mii game for her Wii.  Unfortunately in Hilo, you can't find that game brand new anymore, so we had to get a used one.  Hopefully it works ok.

Since I'm still on my cris cross card kick, I decided to follow the same format for her card.  She kinda likes girly stuff, so I added a flower and some lace on a doily.  For fun, I added Cappy peeking out from inside the card.  BTW- forgot to mention that she loves dogs.

Here's the inside of the card.  Used another Island Scrapbooking laser cut sentiment.

And wrapped the game using the ribbon slider technique.

Sure hope she gets it this time!

Happy Birthday Sister Stamps!

I still cannot believe that our little company is turning 2!  Just wanted to thank everyone for all their support over the past two years!  I'm amazed that we are still around as it just started as an idea between two sisters.  Thank you sis for everything!!

I actually made this card for a co-worker's grandaughter's baby luau.  I couldn't make it to the party, but I still wanted to give her a gift.  I had just made a cris cross card for the Sister Stamps blog featuring the new doggie images, and wanted to make another one.  In case you don't follow my Sister Stamps blog... I love this paper line by Simple Stories called Vintage Bliss.  I can't seem to stop using it!

The paper used is my all time favorite. It looks like a wood fence that has flowers all over it.  LOVE IT!  I added a belly band around it even though it didn't really need it.  Then adhered two large daisies on it.  Stickled the flowers and adhered Mariko to the middle.

Here's a closer look at Mariko...  She's been my go to stamp for birthdays...

And here's the card that slides out.  Added a tab using my Stampin up tab punch.  Rounded the corners of the card and added the Island Scrapbooking Happy Birthday sentiment.

Thanks again for all your support of Sister Stamps!
