Popcorn Bear

I really can't remember when I used my one and only Popcorn Bear stamp. Frankly, I don't think I ever did. I thought this set was cute because you could stamp or write messages on his paper. Had to dig him out of my stash to make a sample for Island Scrapbooking since Michele just brought them in. These flew out the door and I only saw one left! I guess everyone loved Popcorn Bear! Here's a close up of Popcorn... Decided to make this an easel card, so added a sentiment on the inside and popped it up with a pop dot. Supplies:
  • Popcorn Bear- Crafter's Companion
  • Friends to the end sentiment- CC's Designs
  • DP- Best Creations
  • Oval and scallop oval punches- SU
  • Flourish punch- EK Success
  • Ribbon
  • Lacey squares die- Spellbinders
  • Cardstock- Bazzil
  • Flowers- Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts

Party Pup

Who can resist this cutie? I obviously couldn't. There are two more doggies like this one, but I think I like him the best (for now until I decide I can't live without his other two buddies). I decided to make an easel card again. Here's what it looks like when its open. Here's a close up of the sentiment. I wanted to use my modern label punch but needed a small sentiment to fit. This small Seasons Greetings is by CC's. Never thought I'd use it since its so small, but it fit perfectly! Accented it with my pine branch MS Punch. Supplies:
  • Party Pup- LOTV
  • Modern label and word window punch- SU
  • Scallop square die- Spellbinders
  • Season's Greetings- CC's Designs
  • Pine branch punch- MS crafts

Sending Good Thoughts...

I promised you another easel card right? I love how this one came out! Used the Anya from the Spotlight set (not sure what her name is so I'll refer to her as Spotlight Anya) and decided to go with red. Used the same flower background stamp from my last easel card but this time, mounted it on Doodlebug DP. The single flower and sentiment come in the same clear set, which made it really easy! Here's a close up of Spotlight Anya... Supplies:
  • Spotlight Anya- TGF
  • All other stamps- Hero Arts
  • DP- Doodlebug
  • Cardstock- Bazzil
  • Stickles
  • Ribbon

Friends To The End

I'm on a easel card roll right now! Made this easel card using my new Hero Arts stamp set that is perfect as a background. It was a lot of coloring, but I like how it turned out. Added some stickles and crystals for some bling and then mounted it on a background using MS punches.
Decided to make Fleur Anya stand out by coloring her in yellow.
Here's the card when its opened...

Happy Haunting

Yes, yet another digi! I couldn't resist buying this little witch from the Sweet November release. Something about cute Halloween witches I'm a sucker for. I love how she's looking up at an owl on her hat! Can you tell I also distressed the edges of the card with lavendar? Decided to make another easel card and had to dig through my stash to find my Halloween punches. Yes! Oh how I've missed using my spiderweb punch! Here's the card when its opened. Popped up the inside sentiment so it will hold the card open when on display.

Fin-Tastic Day Easel Card

I'm on a roll using my digis! I'm loving this mermaid from the Sweet November collection (Hi Amy!) by CC's Designs. This gal was one of my favorites from the collection and the bonus was the cute sea lion. After coloring the mermaid and her friend, I decided to do something about all that white space. And I mean literal white space, not just blank space. I guess I didn't feel like cutting her out this time, so I ended up using my distress inks to color the background. I was pleasantly surprised that it worked! I don't have the copic airbrush system (yet!), so I'm happy to find this alternative. Here's a close up of the mermaid... Found this old piece of cork that I had bought awhile ago and didn't use up. Thought it was perfect background for this image since it resembles sand. Added more to the inside of the card as well and ripped the edges so it didn't look so perfect.
Did you notice my little starfish? I found these little Doodlebug braddies in my stash and thought they'd be perfect for this card. Now I wish I bought more of them.
Here's the inside of the easel card.
Supplies:
  • Mermaid digi- CC's Designs (Sweet November)
  • Starfish braddie- Doodlebug
  • Cardstock- Bazzil
  • Cork
  • Fintastic sentiment- CC's Designs
  • Starfish paper- Imaginisce

Happy Birthday Aunty!

Yes, its been another busy week for us... After last weekend's baby shower for my cousin, my sister and mom flew to Hilo for a short visit.. then we went back to Honolulu for my Aunty's 60th Birthday party. We tried to make it a surprise, but she said she suspected it. Oh well, at least we tried.
I guess I've been so busy, I didn't take a photo of the invitation I made... but the card I made (shown here) is pretty similar to the invite. I decided to make it an easel card, but needed to also make it a gift card holder... so I just added a pocket so that I could slip the gift card into the pocket.
Here's what the card looked like opened...
I also took a photo of the gift card holder part. Here's a photo of the favors I made (with the help of my DH). We decided to go with the take out box since the theme was Year of the Tiger. I really like the spellbinder die I used here- reminds me of asian stuff, so I thought it matched the theme. BTW, the tiger was drawn and colored my my sister! Isn't it awesome? Thank you Denise! I had such a hard time finding a tiger to use for the party stuff, so I asked my sis to design something for me and this is one of the designs she came up with. Thank goodness she colored them on the computer too, so it was less work for me.
I'll post more stuff soon... I'm exhausted!
Supplies:
Take out box- Sizzix
Labels die- Spellbinders
Cardstock- Bazzil

Easel Card Calendar

I guess the next step to take on the Easel card is to make it into a calendar! I had bought these mini calendars because I couldn't find the medium sized ones, then I went to another store and found them, so I now have extra mini calendars. They are the perfect size for these Easel cards.
Since I'm still on a Valentine's Day kick, thought I'd use my new CC's designs stamp! I just love her holding all those roses. Decided to go with red roses and dug through my scrap stash to find some coordinating paper. I love this paper but can't find the company since its old. Glad I could make use of the scraps! By the way- decided to go with the hanging file 0f scraps and did one for my solid colors and one for my DP. Seems to be working out good so far. AND I finally figured out a way to organize my Spellbinders! (hip hip hooray!) Leave a comment if you want to know my secret!
This doggie card was actually the first one I made. I think I made it wrong though... It looks funny when its opened... I forgot to put the other cardstock behind the red! Oh well. I like this doggie by Create In Me stamps. There are other animals that can peek out from the teacup too.
I can't believe my vacation is over. It was nice having a few extra days off with Akemi (they had waiver days after the break). I don't think I'm ready to got back to work after being off for over a week!
Supplies:
Swiss Miss Rosalie stamp- CC's designs
Doggie and teacup stamp- Create in Me
Life is Sweeter stamp- Hero Arts
Cardstock- Bazzil
Heart punch- MS Crafts
Ribbon
Calendars

Play Date

Well, I finally picked up a stamp and inked it yesterday... the holidays took its toll on me and I needed a break from crafting. Right after New Year's, I cleaned out my daughter's room, my bedroom and my husband moved me into his office, so now I can craft in his office. We cleaned out a ton of stuff, so I was quite tired. I'm happy to say that I did finally get my stuff more organized! Yay!
So, yesterday I spent the afternoon with my friend Debi. We had a nice lunch and then I helped her start her blog... Just waiting for her to give me the OK to post her address. Anytime Debi!! Believe me, you'll like her stuff- its so cute!
We decided that we should be a little productive too and make something so that my husband doesn't think we just talked all afternoon (even though we did!). We've both been asking each other about the easel card that we've been seeing all over the blogs, so we finally decided to make one today. It was SOOOOOOO easy! Not sure why it took me so long to do one! Anyway, wanted to make some valentines cards, so brought my Valentine's day paper and new stamps with me to play with.
Here's what I came up with... I used my new stamp by Stampavie. Couldn't resist the snuggle bunnies and thought they would be cute to use for a Valentine's day card. I just got this metallic finished paper by SEI too that I thought would work with the bunnies. Finally, I wanted to test out the new Martha Stewart heart punches I just got. I wasn't sure if I should get them or not, but I'm glad I did. I really like how it came out. Here's a close up...
Here's the card when its opened...
I decided to ink up my new Hero Arts set with the little girls- its so cute! Since I had the valentines theme going, I decided to use a heart as the background for this one. This time I used Debi's heart corner punch to hold in the background paper on the inside of the card. I think the sentiment was a bit big for the size of the card, but I wanted to use the sentiment that came with the set... next time I gotta try making a larger sized card.
Here's the card opened up.
Here's Debi's easel card. She decided to use the new bird punch from Stampin Up. I like how she made the bird's kissing.
Here's the card opened up...
We sure had fun! Can't wait for the next play date!
