September OCS- Summer Card

Here's the card I made for this month's OCS hosted by my GF Linda.. Its a great way to meet other crafters and exchange ideas! October sign ups should be announced soon, so if you are interested, check out her blog for the announcement. So, Linda has been challenging us for each OCS since she's taken over from Teri... This month's theme it to create a summer card. Since I've made a few summer themed cards this year, I decided to find an image that I haven't used recently. While browsing through my stash, I found this Mermaid Lilly set by Pink Cat Studio that I bought last year. She reminds me of summertime, so I decided to use her for my card. As you probably already know, I LOVE distress inks, so I had to incorporate it somehow on my card. Since they are blendable, it made a nice watery background for Lilly. I added some crystals using my flourish template and added the CC's sentiment that coordinates so well with mermaids and other sea life. My OCS partner this month is Brenda (Punch Queen). Hope she likes it! Supplies:
  • Mermaid Lilly stamp- Pink Cat Studio
  • Fintastic sentiment- CC's Designs
  • Distress inks- Ranger
  • Stickles
  • Crystals- Hero Arts
  • Cardstock- Bazzil

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Everyone!
Thought I'd better post these Thanksgiving cards I made since its almost here! Yikes!! I can't believe its Thanksgiving already... Since I've been busy, I decided to make some simple cards using some of my favorite Thanksgiving images.
All of these images are digi's, so all I had to do was print them on my computer! This first image is by Two Scoops Rice. Check out their blog here. Renae is giving away free digis- in b&w and pre-colored! I chose the pre-colored one since I didn' t have time to color it myself. I was able to whip this card up in 5 minutes. To give it a little bling, I added liquid pearls for the whipped cream. Go to the Two Scoops Blog now to get your free digis of Mumford the Mouse. There is also a Christmas design with him that is available for free! Thanks Renae!
This next digi is by Pink Cat Studio. Betty has been baking pie for Thanksgiving Dinner. I think she's so sweet! This sentiment and a whole bunch more are free on the Pink Cat digital website... Lastly, I finally got around to using the new CC's Thanksgiving digis. I think these are cute since they go together! Also gave me a chance to use this cute Bo Bunny paper. Here's a close up of the two cuties. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving! BTW- Two Scoops Rice is having a Black Friday special.. check out their blog for more details... Also, for those of you who live in Hilo, Island Scrapbooking will be having some good deals that day too.. go to their blog for more info on black friday deals.

Howdy Partner!

We missed little Ethan's 1st birthday party this past weekend, so I wanted to wish him a Happy Belated Birthday! Their birthday theme was cowboys, so I immediately thought of the Pink Cat Studio Ethan digi! How perfect is that? I just love this digi but rarely use it since I don't know many people who are cowboys. Since that was his baby theme too, I wasn't going to give up this chance to use my digi.
Not sure if you notice but I cut out the balloon he's holding. I like that effect a lot and need to remember to use it more often. Sorry, I don't recall what company the DP is from since it was a scrap.

Itty Bitty Betty and Bobby

I was soooo happy to get the new Pink Cat Studio Itty Bitty Betty and Bobby Halloween stamp set! When I went to Honolulu, I only had time to go to one store and I was told they were all out... My friend Debi went to Honolulu after me and came back with the set for me! Yippee! Thanks Debi!
Used my favorite spiderweb punches again to frame the image. Since the webs make it very busy, I decided not to put anything else on the card that would distract from the image. Hope you like it!
Supplies:

Itty Bitty Betty Ladybug

I just love these new Pink Cat Studio digis! If you haven't checked them out yet, you really need to. Especially if you love Halloween! They have some really cute designs that compliment the stamp set that was released in September. They also have some cute Christmas designs. Unfortunately I couldn't buy them all, but I did manage to get some of them.. Here's one of my favorites... It's Itty Bitty Betty dressed as a Ladybug! You can't tell from the photo but I actually glittered her lower wings and antenna. She's such a cutie and totally my style.

Boy Oh Boy!

I just don't know how to make boy cards I guess. I'm so used to making cute girly cards for girls or women, that I sometimes forget what guys like. Sorry boys! It's probably because I have a daughter, my brother has 2 daughters, I have a sister and sister in law, Mom, Mom-in-law, etc. Even my dog is a girl! Anyway, every once in awhile I'm forced to make boy stuff... Its always a struggle, but here's that I came up with recently... 2 baby boy cards and 1 birthday card. This one is going to my husband's cousin, who just had a baby boy. Bought this set awhile ago, but never had a reason to use it, till now. This one is going to my dear friend Bev, who's baby was born pre-mature. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. I thought this was a good opportunity to use my brand spankin new baby set from the Greeting Farm. I love his beanie. Finally, my friend's son's birthday is coming up this month. I hear he is playing baseball now, so Sports Billy was the way to go. Whew! Glad the boy stuff is over with. Now I can make girlie stuff again!

I Love Lilly

I just love the Lilly and Billly stamps from Pink Cat Studio. Since they are a Canadian company, I wasn't sure about ordering directly from them, but it was as if I ordered from the mainland. I had been eyeing the new Lilly at the Beach and Dress up Lilly sets for awhile, but once the sports Billy set came out, I decided to place my order. When Tracy found out, she told me that she liked these stamps too... so I decided to make this folder for her. Saw it first on Jodi's blog, Inked Inspirations, but have now seen it on many of the Hawaii girls blog sites. Jodi's instructions are very easy to follow, so I was able to crank it out pretty quickly. Thank you Jodi! Isn't Lilly the cutest? Here's the images inside. Have fun Tracy! Supplies used: Lilly at the beach- Pink Cat Studio Markers- Copics Cardstock- Bazzil Glitter cardstock- Doodlebug Designs Flowers- Prima Crystals- Hero Arts Brads Ribbon

Happy Birthday Donna!

I bought the Enchanted Lily stamp set from Cute Stuff in Honolulu about a month ago, but never made anything with it. I just love the Lily line from Pink Cat Studio. I was hoping to get the new Lily at the Beach set but they didn't have it when I went. I'm glad they had this set though since she is so cute as a fairy.
Liann at Cute Stuff showed me a card someone made for her using this set. Lily on the swing actually swung when you moved the card from side to side!!! I was determined to figure out how to do this, so I tried researching it on the blogs but only found one person who posted something similar, with no instructions. I just decided to try it on my own and it worked! See Lily swinging right....
To left.....
Supplies used:
Stamps- Pink Cat Studio
DP- Imaginisce
Carsdstock- Bazzil
Markers- Copics
So you are probably wondering why I wrote Happy Birthday Donna as the title to this post... Donna is a "DT" member for Island Scrapbooking and such a sweet person. Although she had a kinda junkie day today, I hope this card cheered her up a bit. Using the same concept as the card above, I just changed the DP and colors up a little. Donna- hope the rest of your day was better! Happy Birthday!

Swinging back and forth... back and forth...
Here's the inside of the card... its hard to see but the sentiment is stamped using two different Brilliance pads (green and blue).
